Problem

Employees moved between the group's subsidiaries, and each SAP HCM instance issued its own ID. The same person existed as several unconnected records, so no system could show a complete career history.

Method

Consolidated the records in Power Query and matched people on a composite key of name, date of birth and national ID. One verified history per employee was loaded into SAP SuccessFactors, then Employee 360 reporting was built on scheduled extracts through Excel and Power BI, later moving to QlikSense and the group's AWS platform.

Problem

With data now in SuccessFactors, departments across the subsidiaries still received reports assembled by hand from Excel extracts: slow to produce and easy to get wrong.

Method

Rebuilt the reporting as Power Query transformations feeding Power BI, refreshed from SuccessFactors extracts and shaped to each department's needs.

Problem

SHMA was the appointed external actuary for ADNIC, one of the UAE's leading insurers, and had to deliver its Central Bank of UAE actuarial requirements: underwriting reviews, the pricing adequacy report, reserving and ad hoc analysis. The data behind them sat in separate actuarial, claims and reinsurance sources.

Method

Combined the three data sets in integrated Alteryx and Excel frameworks, ran reserving, pricing adequacy and loss variance analysis, and presented the results through Qlik dashboards and variance models.

Result

Regulatory deliverables produced on schedule, with faster reporting cycles and clearer evidence behind pricing, reserving and reinsurance decisions.

Problem

Actuarial reporting ran on spreadsheet models that needed repeated manual work every cycle and did not scale well.

Method

Automated recurring reporting with Excel VBA first, then rebuilt legacy actuarial models as Alteryx workflows that run end to end.
